CrowdVision is a leading automated passenger analytics and insights company. CrowdVision’s video-based people tracking software shows what is happening to an entire passenger population, in real time. This enables airports to act decisively to increase efficiency and profitability whilst improving their passengers’ experience. The CrowdVision solution processes live video input from commercial off the shelf cameras. The people tracking system undertakes passenger counting, queue analysis, and analyses passenger flow automatically using sophisticated artificial intelligence techniques. CrowdVision outputs live passenger analytics about everything from flows, queues and wait times to processing times, occupancies, and asset utilisation. Live dashboards reveal actionable insights to improve real-time operations. Accumulated historical data provides reliable evidence for planning and investment decisions. Some airports use CrowdVision’s people tracking and queue analysis to improve checkpoint efficiency. By reducing queues and waiting times, airports process passengers into retail areas more quickly. Other airports use CrowdVision’s passenger tracking capabilities to understand how passengers move around retail and food/beverage areas. By understanding dwell times and retail conversion metrics, airports optimise the value of their retail space. If you are an airport operator, and you care about improving your passengers’ experience as well as your bottom line, we can help provide the passenger tracking data and insights that you need to make better decisions. CrowdVision is headquartered in London, with regional offices around the world. More information is available at

Chicago ORD and MDW: Accurately predict wait times in security zones
From 12/2016 (in progress)
In 2016, CrowdVision was deployed at Chicago’s O’Hare (ORD) and Midway (MDW) airports, in collaboration with Boingo. Together, these airports handle 100 million passengers a year, with ORD being the second-busiest airport in the USA. CrowdVision has been deployed in Security zones to enable CDA to accurately predict wait times and report on passenger flows and operations. Heathrow partners with CrowdVision to optimise passenger experience in real-time
From 6/2016 (in progress)
In June 2016 Heathrow Airport Limited selected Crowd Vision Limited as its Passenger Flow Analytics Partner following a competitive tendering process. An extensive multi-terminal rollout is now in delivery with plans for further phased expansion in the future. A successful trial of the CrowdVision solution in Terminal 2 / the Airport Operations Centre has already delivered early benefits. The extended system will measure crowding, queuing and utilisation in check-in and immigration halls, as well as the flows of connecting passengers. This live data shows airport operations teams where, when and how waiting is occurring – enabling rapid and effective interventions, with the historic data providing teams with data to support future operational planning and capacity optimization. Ross Baker, Director of Operations at Heathrow, said “Delivering a smooth passenger journey through the airport is key to serving passengers well. Heathrow’s deployment of CrowdVision seeks to provide operational insight, both on the day and as part of a ‘plan do review’ cycle. It will support improvement in service, efficiency, and capacity optimisation. CrowdVision has been selected as a tool that provides a flexible and scalable solution, and which can be deployed in a collaborative approach.” To find out more, please visit

Measuring the customer’s journey through London City Airport
From 1/2013 (in progress)
London City Airport (LCY) is the only London airport actually in London, handling 3.65 million passengers in 2014. Some 65% of those using LCY are travelling on business. It should take no more than 20 minutes to get from front door to departure lounge, and no more than 15 minutes from tarmac to train. LCY calls it the 20:15 promise — and it is a promise that presents an obvious challenge: how can they know if they are delivering? To find out how, read the White Paper by Patrick Burrows, London City Airport's CFO, here;
