Forecast of International Passenger Traffic at Kansai International Airport for Golden Week 2024

Kansai Airports today announces the forecast of international passenger traffic, Japanese an non-Japanese combined, at Kansai International Airport (KIX) during the upcoming Golden Week (11 days from Friday, April 26, to Monday, May 6).

 

  • International passenger number is forecasted to be 682,600 (daily average: 62,100).
    *The 11-day Golden Week 2019 results were 842,180 with a daily average of 76,560.
  • The busiest departure day is expected to be Friday, May 3, with 37,500 passengers, while the busiest arrival day is forecasted to be Sunday, May 5, with 35,800 passengers.
    *2019 actuals: The peak departure date: Saturday, April 27, with 46,500 passengers. The peak arrival date: Monday, May 6, with 45,070 passengers.
  • The daily average number of passengers is likely to be 81% compared to 2019, with the top three destinations being South Korea, China, and Southeast Asia.
