CAM Executive Committee Members Visited the Airport Operation Entities

As the Lunar New Year is approaching, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) Dr. Deng Jun, Executive Directors Mr. Chu Tan Neng, Mr. Kan Cheok Kuan, Mr. Lei Si Tai and Mr. Leung Henry Yee Hang have visited various airport operation entities and Passenger Terminal Building, included the Fire Services Bureau Airport Division (CB-DBA) Airport Information Management Solutions (AIMS), SEMAC Security Company (SEMAC) and Macau Catering Services Company Limited (MCS) on 19th January 2023, sent greetings and expressed gratitude to personnel of the operating units.

 

Members of the CAM Executive Committee visited the main fire-station of Macau International Airport (MIA) and had a meeting with the Commissioner of Fire Services Bureau (CB) Mr. Leong Iok Sam and Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kong Iat Fu.  CAM’s delegation extended sincere greetings to firefighters stationed at MIA and expressed heartfelt gratitude for their long-term service to safeguard the airport.

 

In addition, an introduction on the lately equipped rescue vehicles was delivered to CAM’s delegation, of which the engine power, capacity of fire extinguishing agent and performance of rescue device have significantly enhanced compared to existing rescue vehicles, ensuring that the fire rescue services of MIA could meet the standards and specifications of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), while further enhance the efficiency of airport rescue and fire-fighting services.  At the meeting, Commissioner Leong expressed appreciation to CAM for its perfect arrangement of fire-fighting equipment, facilities and meals for personnel stationed at MIA, which fully demonstrates the all-out support of MIA to their fire-fighting and rescue work and DBA pledges to sustain full aid for emergency and rescue works to ensure the safety of the airport and aircrafts with land-sea rescue and fire-fighting services.  

 

After the meeting, CAM representatives were accompanied by Commissioner Leong and his delegation to visit the fire-fighting equipment and other facilities such as fitness and restroom in the fire main-station to better understand the working environment of firefighters. 

 

The Executive Committee members also went to two subsidiaries respectively, and was warmly welcomed by the General Manager of AIMS Ms. Sharon Wang and Managing Director of SEMAC Mr. Paul Leong.  Executive Committee members extended New Year greetings and sincere thanks to all colleagues and communicated about the business recovery status after the infection wave.  And encouraged the two subsidiaries to continue their hard work on 2023, to promote the IT development and security work of the airport in accordance with the strategic plan.  Especially as the Lunar New Year is approaching, there will be a peak of tourists, all operating unites must earnestly and effectively do all kinds of preparation, to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the airport.

Afterwards, the Executive Committee members visited the airport terminal, Director of the Operation Branch of the Airport Operation Department (AOD) Mr. Dicky Chu, introduced the airport operation, passenger service and check in process.  Members of the Executive Committee gave guidance on crowd control measure. In order to reduce crowd gathering, AOD needs to communicate closely with airlines and coordinate with ground handling companies to send additional passenger service staffs to assist passengers, so that they can travel more smoothly.  

 

At the same time, detailed logistics is required to ensure the first Spring Festival Travel Season after the relaxation of immigration policies is efficient and smooth.

 

Afterwards, CAM Delegation visited Macau Catering Service Co. Ltd (MCS), to exchange views on industry recovery, production and operation status, staffing, etc., and affirmed the long-term work quality of MCS.  General Manager of MCS Mr. Hugo Chu expressed sincere thanks to CAM for overcoming the difficulties with the local civil aviation industry in the past three years and issuing various relief measures to airport operators as to reduce their operating pressure.  MCS will continue to provide high-quality aviation food supply services for airports on the premise of ensuring food safety and high quality.

 

Other participants in the visit include: Director of Executive Committee Office (ECO) Ms. Katy Lo and Deputy Director of Corporate Communications and Policy Research Office (CPO) Ms. Adrina Ho.
