From Macau International Airport, Seamless Luggage Check-through to Destinations Across Multiple Countries. Seek Out New and Fascinating Experiences with an Effortless, Relaxed Journey

  • 2024-06-20

Macau International Airport (MIA) continues to expand more diversified flight routes and airlines, aiming to optimize the network coverage for departures from Macau and enhance the travel experience for passengers. As more and more airlines joined, passengers departing from Macau can utilize the one-ticket-through-baggage-check service, making it easy to reach out to different countries and regions.

In addition, to develop direct flight destinations actively, MIA is leveraging the international flight networks of various airlines to provide travellers with more diverse one-stop travelling services. Passengers can now choose from multiple transit options with a layover of around 4-6 hours or less when departing from Macau. This includes connecting through Air Macau, Air China, EVA Air and STARLUX Airlines to reach the major cities in Canada, the United States, Russia and Europe.

Additionally, through China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Juneyao Airlines, passengers can access the main cities in Germany, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Greece, and also travel to Cairo of Egypt. Some of the major cities in Australia can be reached by transiting through Singapore with Scoot, while the network of AirAsia can be used to travel to India.

Korean Air has confirmed the launch of a new thrice-weekly flight service from Seoul to Lisbon, Portugal starting on 11th September 2024, with a transit time of around 6 hours. Passengers can enjoy a seamless one-ticket luggage check-through service on Korean Air flights from Macau, connecting through Seoul to Lisbon. This will further strengthen the role of Macau as a service platform for trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
