Manager: Sustainability (Environment)


Location:  This is a remote position, requiring close coordination with teams based in Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, India, Malaysia, and the UAE, as well as collaboration with teams from other ACI Regional Offices and ACI World.

 

Job Summary: 

The Manager of Sustainability (Environment) should be an experienced project manager in environment/sustainability, and will lead environmental initiatives with a focus on project management, data analysis, and strong communication skills.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Management of periodic environment surveys, research, advocacy, recognition, accreditation and advisory programmes or services in close coordination with members of ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East, consultants and stakeholders;
  • Analyse latest developments and policy issues on international civil aviation environmental protection and sustainability, including the production of statistical analysis, conducting research and draft reports to support the formulation of ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East policies.
  • Undertake special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Director General.
  • Provide secretarial support to the regional environmental committee and other committees; 
  • Setup agenda, conducting meetings, writing minutes and implementing follow up actions and projects decided by the regional liaison group and committees; 
  • Promote environmental sustainability best practices in Asia-Pacific & Middle East by facilitating sharing of information amongst airports; and 

 

Requirement: 

  • Highly adaptable, Self-organised and able to work remotely with an international team located in several countries (Hong Kong SAR, India, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and UAE).
  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, engineering, sustainability or natural science
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in the aviation industry and a multicultural working environment;
  • Knowledge and experience in environmental projects (Decarbonization, climate resilience, green finance etc.)  related to aviation is preferable;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications, presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Positive work ethics such as being independent, well-organized and result-oriented;
  • A good command of written and spoken English and desirably working knowledge of other Asian Languages as well;
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant applications.
  • Willingness to travel overseas as required.
