CAM Executive Director Mr. Chu Tan Neng and His Delegation Attended the “The 4th China Civil Aviation Airport Development Conference and Achievement Exhibition”

Executive Directors of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) Mr. Chu Tan Neng and Mr. Lei Si Tai led a delegation to attend “The 4th China Civil Aviation Airport Development Conference and Achievement Exhibition” held by the China Civil Airport Association (CCAA) in Xiamen from 22nd to 24th February 2023.
The opening speeches were delivered by Leader of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and Member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Ms. Liu Fang, Vice Chairman of the Xiamen City Committee of the CPPCC Mr. Xue Qian, Director General of CCAA Ms. Wang Ruiping and Deputy Director of Department of Airport of CAAC Mr. Zhu Wenxin respectively. As the member airport of CCAA, CAM was invited and joined the Conference and Exhibition, who enable CAM to deepen the development of China’s Four Types airport as the concept orientation and helps high quality development of China’s airports in the new era and builds a strong civil aviation nation, in cope with the “Second Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Macao Special Administrative Region (2021-2025)” to improve the development of Macau';s external aviation infrastructure.
The conference was held in a combination of online and offline with live streaming. In order to conscientiously implement the requirements of the “14th Five-Year Plan for Civil Aviation Development Plan” of the CCAC, and to facilitate the airport industry’s digital, intelligent and green development, the conference took the promotion of the high-quality development of the industry as the essential requirement for the comprehensive construction of building socialist modernization as the main line, with the theme of new industry, new technology, new capability, and new service, adhering to the principles of “innovation” and “pragmatism”. The agenda consists of one main forum, four sub-forums (including new infrastructure construction, humanistic airport construction, safety airport and smart construction, as well as green airport construction), with one exchange and networking event for airport construction projects.
The delegation was invited to attend a thematic exchange and networking event in the morning of the 24th of February dedicated to the construction of new (alteration, expansion and relocation) civil airport projects in order to give full play to the “Guidance from CAAC on Promoting the Application of New Technologies of Airports”. CAM formed a leading group and a working group for the expansion and reclamation plan of MIA, at the same time listened to the development of new industrial construction and learnt about the construction of new infrastructure which can be applied to the reclamation and expansion plan. During the exchange session, the delegation conducted face-to-face discussions with various civil aviation airport construction units on apron construction (apron lightings, pipe laying), runway safety zones (materials used in safety zones, aircraft blocking materials) and the reclamation construction projects, which successfully promotes new airport technologies, facilitates the transformation of innovative technological achievements and maintains its quality with sustainable development.
Afterwards, the delegation visited the Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport Operation Control Center, where the representatives introduced in detail the main functions of the Center, daily operations and the application of new technologies on smart departure control systems in airport management. CAM also introduced the passenger volume of Macau International Airport has recovered and increased steadily after the epidemic, and all sectors of the industry are adjusting to the demand changes after the recovery. Both entities also shared the trends of various development and are looking forward to exchange and cooperate in the future opportunities.
