Coast guards/ Firefighters’ Event at KIX

Kansai Airports is delighted to announce the Japan Coast Guard/Airport Firefighting Event at the Observation Hall “SkyView” at Kansai International Airport (KIX) held between Thursday, July 20 and Sunday, July 23. During this period, the Japan Coast Guard will set up a special JCG booth in cooperation with Kansai Airport Coast Guard Air Station and hold events such as the display of the JCG operational panels, a section for children to wear uniforms, and distribution of various brochures. In addition, on Sunday, July 23, as part of a marine safety event, a marine safety class and a marine rescue demonstration will be held by mobile rescuers at the base, as well as a greeting by the JCG mascot character, “Umin”.

Furthermore, you can enjoy a fire engine display by the airport fire brigade, which watches over the safety of Kansai International Airport and plays an active role in the daily operation at the airport. You can also experience their water discharge demonstration. Children can try wearing the firefighter’s uniforms.

"Sorayan," the official character of the Kansai Airports Group, will also join on the same day to cheer on the team. It will be an event where you can experience and deepen your understanding of the work of the Japan Coast Guard and airport fire brigade.

1. “Marine Safety Class” and Marine Rescue Demonstration Event by Japan Coast Guard

• Admission: Free of charge
• Application: Reception on site on the day of the event
• Seating capacity: 40 seats. Standing room only for a larger audience.

2. Airport Firefighting Work Experience Event

• Date, time: Sunday, July 23, 2023, 11:00 - 15:00
• Location: Outdoor parking lot, KIX Observation Hall “SkyView”
• Admission: Free of charge
• Application: Reception on site on the day of the event
• * The event may be subject to change or cancellation due to weather or other circumstances.
• * Parking lot is expected to be crowded on the day. Please use public transportation.

3. Japan Coast Guard Special Booth
