Special TV program to commemorate the 30th anniversary of KIX opening
- on NHK’s international broadcasting channel “NHK WORLD-JAPAN/jibtv” 

 

Kansai Airports is delighted to announce that a program to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Kansai International Airport (KIX) will be broadcast worldwide on the NHK’s international broadcasting channel “NHK WORLD-JAPAN/jibtv“.


The theme of the program is “the Beautiful Airport” coming from the words of the architect Renzo Piano who designed KIX - “Beauty is not just about appearance but also spiritual beauty”.

 

The previous program featuring KIX was aired in 2019 and well-received, and this second program will be delivered to about 420 million households in 160 countries and regions.


This program highlights how the KIX’s first ever large-scale Terminal 1 renovation istransforming 
the architectural beauty of the airport, environmental measures we are taking to protect then natural beauty, the “spiritual beauty” the airport staff strive for, and many more.

 

Kansai Airports Group will continue to create values as a gateway to new journeys and experiences.

 

 

Program outline 
Date: Friday, August 30, 2024, for 30 minutes
The program will go on air four times: at 11:30 a.m., 4:30 p.m., 10:30 p.m., 4:30 a.m. (next day) 
*All in Japan Standard Time. The same program will be re-aired.
*This broadcast is available on TV equipped with a tuner to receive the station’s transmission.
