Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) today released the traffic figures for Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) for March 2023. During the month, HKIA handled 2.8 million passengers, more than 28 times the amount recorded in March 2022, and 372,000 tonnes of cargo, which represented year-on-year growth of 5.8%. Flight movements in March more than doubled year on year to 20,130.
According to Airport International Group, Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed 738,860 passengers (PAX) during March, recording a 31.6% rise against 2022 figures. QAIA also received 6,179 aircraft movements (ACM) and 5,603 tons of cargo, marking increases of 21.7% and 3.2%, respectively, compared with 2022 figures.

Aviation sector in India is on a robust rebound – passenger and air traffic movement wise. Playing its part in this economically upbeat scenario for the Indian aviation sector is Mangaluru International Airport (MIA), which has chalked steady upward trend on these critical parameters at the state’s second busiest airport – both for their domestic and international travel needs. Mangaluru International Airport in handling 17,94,054 passengers during FY 2022-23 has registered a 76% growth over the previous fiscal. The airport had handled 10,16,559 passengers during 2021-22. Out of the 17.94-lakh passengers handled, 12.08 lakh passengers were domestic, and the remaining 5.86-lakh passengers were overseas travelers, primarily to the various middle East destinations.
Macau International Airport (MIA) recorded more than 750,000 passengers traffic in the first quarter of 2023, representing year-on-year growth of 1.7 times. The flight movements recorded year-on-year increase of 57% with over 6,900 movements in the first quarter of 2023.

Bookended by Easter and Anzac Day, many families are jetting away before the cooler weather sets in with more than 800,000 people travelling across the school holidays. Auckland Airport Chief Customer Officer, Scott Tasker, said the opportunity to extend the school holidays with Good Friday and Anzac Day means passenger numbers are predicted to be just over 80% of 2019 levels across both the international and domestic terminals.
Brisbane Airport is predicting up to 15,000 passengers to pass through its International Terminal tomorrow (Sunday), representing a new post-COVID record, with international services boosted by 77% compared to this time last year.
