Sharjah Airport welcomed the inaugural flight of Nile Air, the largest private airline in Egypt, which flew in from Cairo International Airport. The carrier will operate two flights a week between Sharjah and Cairo on Friday and Sunday.
Airports Vanuatu Ltd (AVL) wishes to provide an update to our stakeholders on our operations in September 2022. September saw a full quarter of operations since border opening. During the month, rules regarding international pre-departure testing ceased. Nearly 42,000 domestic and international passengers were processed through AVL’s three airports. This result represents a new record, since the pandemic began.
Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) today announced the air traffic figures of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) for September 2022. During the month, passenger throughput at HKIA reached 525,000, marking a year-on-year increase of 132.7%. Cargo and flight movements handled were 341,000 tonnes and 11,665, respectively, representing decreases of 25.0% and 16.3% compared to the same month last year.
Airport International Group announced that Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed 5,835,186 passengers (PAX) during the first nine months of 2022, registering an 89.6% increase and 15.6% decline against 2021 and 2019 figures, respectively. Meanwhile, QAIA received 51,463 aircraft movements (ACM), 63.2% more and 16.0% less than the figures recorded during the same periods in 2021 and 2019, respectively. As for year-to-date cargo figures, QAIA handled 45,935 tons, marking a 9.7% rise and 39.7% drop compared with 2021 and 2019 figures, respectively.
With the epidemic situation in the Mainland and Macau have been eased, the epidemic measures between two places are relatively released, which stimulated the increasing number of tourists to Macau. From 1st to 7th October, MIA has handled 20,291 passengers and 354 aircraft movements, an increase of multiple and 53% compared to the same period of last year.
