This week, the global community of airport innovators, start-ups, visionary thinkers, researchers and top tech minds gathers at Rome Fiumicino Airport for AIRPORTS INNOVATE 2024. The conference, organised jointly by ACI EUROPE, ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East and ACI World, and hosted by Aeroporti di Roma, will chart the future of air travel, pooling innovative solutions, groundbreaking tools and know-how from across the globe.
Adelaide Airport is set to reduce potable water consumption in its main terminal by 50 per cent – or 10 million litres a year - with the connection of cooling towers to the airport’s stormwater scheme. The initiative has already secured Adelaide Airport gold status for water management in results announced last week by ACI (Airport Councils International) Asia-Pacific.
Various initiatives and measures have been in place at Narita International Airport to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection. Sunshine Coast Airport has welcomed the arrival of the first flight on its new $334 million runway as it officially opened today (Sunday). An Alliance Airlines Fokker 100, flight QQ 994, was the first aircraft to touchdown on the new 2450m x 45m runway at 9:30am, 11 weeks since the airport closed its terminal and temporarily farewelled its last passenger jet.
