This document is the first guidelines jointly published by ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East and CANSO as a result of the agreement that the two associations reached at their first in-person meeting held in May 2023 in Kobe, Japan.

Maintenance works on the airfield, especially those on an active runway or taxiway, if not properly coordinated, planned and executed, can results in serious, fatal or even catastrophic accidents and injuries. The purpose of this document is to provide guidelines to airport operators on the “Safe Execution of Maintenance Works in the Manoeuvring Area and Contractor Management”.

The purpose of this document is to provide guidelines to aerodrome operators on the safe applications of unmanned aircraft systems, i.e. also commonly known as drones, in aerodrome operations and maintenance, especially from the perspective of obtaining regulatory approvals for such uses.

The idea of drafting guidance on aerodrome operational manning requirements was mooted at the 23rd meeting of the ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Operational Safety Committee held in Hong Kong in April 2019. The motive was to suggest a methodology with some scientific basis for airport operators to estimate and justify manpower requirements.

The purpose of this document is to provide airports, especially those with little means to procure and operate a sophisticated automatic lightning detection system, with simple guidelines on developing their own procedures on the suspension and resumption of aerodrome operations in the event of thunderstorms.

Practical guidelines on the identification of safety hazards to aerodrome operations and the establishment of corrective and preventive measures and actions to mitigate the safety risks caused by such hazards.

A simple set of guidelines to help airport operators quickly establish a plan to remove disabled aircraft.
