4500 People Book for Saturday’s BNE Careers Expo
- 2022-09-09
There has been an unprecedented rush for tickets for this Saturday’s BNE Careers Expo.
4500 people have so far booked their pass to the event which will run from 9am-2pm at Skygate, Brisbane Airport. Several hundred more tickets remain via bne.com.au/jobs
Ticket interest has been growing since the moment BNE went public with its need for 2000 workers across the precinct, plus another 10000 in time for the 2032 Olympic & Paralympic Games.
"Our focus is really about creating long term awareness that Brisbane Airport is not just the gateway to a holiday, but it’s a place where you can have a really great career," says Jane Dionysius, Human Resources General Manager at Brisbane Airport.
40 employers and training organisations will be represented at the BNE Careers Expo, with some conducting speed interviews on the sidelines of the event.
"These companies have been very honest with us about how many people they need now, and how many they’ll need in the future. Alliance Airlines for example is looking for 100 people today, and 400 in the next 12 months, which is extraordinary growth for this Queensland based airline," according to Jane.
Friday Workforce Attraction Forum
In addition to the BNE Careers Expo, 45 companies from across BNE will gather at a Workforce Attraction Forum on Friday, to find creative solutions to attract more staff.
"This is about discovering new ways in a new world to attract and retain a workforce that now has very different needs. We want employers to look at innovative options for working across multiple businesses and create new flexible work environments that make BNE stand-out," according to Doug Pye, from BNE Enterprise.
