5 New Aircraft Stands at Kansai International Airport to Accommodate Increasing Slots

Kansai Airports is pleased to announce that five new aircraft parking stands will be added to the north side of the first airport island and the international cargo area of the second airport island at Kansai International Airport (KIX). 

 

The new stands will be developed with the aim of accommodating the increasing air network that will be initiated be the Osaka/Kansai Expo. The total number of stands at Kansai International Airport will be 104 once all the stands are in full operation. 

 

Kansai Airports Group will continue to work with all those involved to contribute to the development of the Kansai economy and will make the necessary capital investments to strengthen the functions of KIX, which is the gateway to the Kansai region.

 

The stands to be added: 
Location:

1. North side of the first airport island 
2. International cargo area on the second airport island 
Number of stands: 5 (2 stands in the north side, 3 stand in the international cargo area) 
Start of operation: Spring 2025 for the north side (TBC) 
December 26, 2024 for the international cargo area
