ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Engages with ASEAN on Airport Technology and Sustainability

ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East presented the advancements in airport technology and commitment to sustainability of the airport industry at the 48th ASEAN Air Transport Working Group meeting (ATWG48) in Singapore from 2-6 October 2023.

Speaking at the meeting, Ken Lau, Senior Manager of Environment and Airport Information Technology at ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East, reiterated how digitalisation is accelerating airports’ development and how smart airports are operating efficiently via disruptive solutions, such as the latest innovative incubators at airports, artificial intelligence operations at airports, and the metaverse at airports, so as to advance business intelligence.

Lau also introduced new cybersecurity measures and their framework, governance, and best practices for the industry.

Going forward, ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East will continue to contribute towards the implementation of the ASEAN Transport Strategic Plan in 2016 – 2025.
