Almaty International Airport Becomes a Member of ACI Asia-Pacific

“Participation in ACI will allow the Almaty Airport to adopt the best world experience in this field, compare performance indicators with industry-average global indicators and represent and defend professional interests to ensure more efficient operations”, said Abdul Kusaev, head of international relations and marketing at Almaty International Airport.

 

The objectives of ACI are to represent the interests of the member airports of the organization, to find ways of their cooperation with airlines and other partners to create the conditions necessary for the successful operation of the entire industry, to promote the interests of airport operators in regulatory and legislative structures, as well as in circles that influence public opinion about the airport business. The priorities of ACI’s activities are interaction with legislative and regulatory bodies, the formation of sectoral policies and the exchange of information in order to bring the interests of organization members to IATA, ICAO, the European Commission, Eurocontrol and other international and national organizations.

 

Almaty International Airport is the largest international airport in Kazakhstan. It is about 15 km (9.3 mi) northeast of Almaty, the country’s largest city and commercial capital. Almaty airport accounts for half of the passenger traffic and 68% of cargo traffic to Kazakhstan.
