APEX Goes Virtual
- 08 Apr 2021
Since the launch of the Airport Experience (APEX) in Safety in 2011, more than 30 reviews have been conducted in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. The APEX in Security, launched in 2017, has conducted more than 25 reviews. Now, the well-regarded programme is pivoting to adjust to the pandemic by going virtual.
The virtual APEX is a solution for every airport to improve safety and security management. It provides a targeted online peer review of an area of improvement airports wish to seek additional guidance and recommendations. It will help to improve airports’ approach in implementing ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices, national requirements, and ACI’s own best practices.
How does it work?
By booking a Virtual APEX, airports have access to an international pool of over 400+ experts in safety and security airport operational management. The virtual assessment will provide airports with insights into all documentation, standard operating procedures, management programmes (FOD, Management Systems, Pavement Management Programme, Risk Management etc.), data collection practices and many other aspects under the airport operator’s responsibilities.
Hosted on a virtual platform, , discussions, assessments, and presentations are carried out by APEX assessors under the leadership of an ACI Team Leader, while the airport can have all its dedicated employees and relevant stakeholders participate.
