  • 2024-06-07

Representatives from Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) participated in the Macau Tourism Promotion and Industry Networking Event organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office in Seoul, South Korea, from 28th to 30th May 2024. During the event, they exchanged views and discussed future route development and tourism products with representatives from the tourism industries of Macau and South Korea.

Taking this opportunity, CAM representatives visited Korean Air’s headquarters in Seoul, where they were received by Mr. Sung-Won Hwang, Head of the Passenger Network Department, and his team. CAM representatives presented the latest market conditions of Macau International Airport. Both parties held a meeting to discuss the preparations for the route launch in July. Korean Air shared detailed information about the Macau route in July and their future plans for the Macau market. Korean Air aims to utilize its route network to attract new customers to Macau and enhance the destination options available at Macau International Airport, discussions also covered the improvement of passenger convenience.

Additionally, Korean Air confirmed the inauguration of the Seoul-Lisbon route in September. This route, which allows for a six-hour layover and through-checked baggage from Macau to Lisbon via Seoul, offers a more convenient option for travellers, enhancing the role of Macau as a platform between China and Portugal. This route is expected to benefit cultural, tourism, and economic exchanges between two regions. Through the network of Korean Air connections to the United States, Europe, and other regions will be further facilitated, making travel more convenient for passengers using Macau International Airport. This will also attract more international travellers to Macau.

CAM representatives included Mr. Edman Lee, Deputy Director of Marketing Department (MKD) and Ms. Sofia So, Manager of MKD.
