  • 2025-03-05

Representatives from Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) participated in the 7th Guangzhou Aviation Logistics Development Summit Forum in Guangzhou on 28th February 2025, with about 1,000 industry experts and freight forwarders have attended. The theme of summit is the Major Shifts in Global International Trade and New Opportunities for Air Cargo in the Greater Bay Area.

At the summit, guests gave speeches and discussed a number of topics concerning the industry, including the impact of the existing tariff policy in the United States on China’s international trade, new opportunities for the development of air cargo in the Greater Bay Area, and the development model and trend of e-commerce. CAM representatives also participated in the award ceremony and networking dinner to enhance communication with the industry, keeping abreast of the latest market trends and exploring cooperation opportunities.

The demand for cross-border e-commerce goods transportation continues to rise, among which air cargo has become the core transportation channel for the global layout of e-commerce enterprises with an efficient and fast transportation mode.

In order to meet the demand for cross-border e-commerce cargo transportation, airports across China are actively strengthening and improving logistics infrastructure to further improve transportation capacity and service quality. On the other hand, the development and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things technology in air cargo will effectively improve operational efficiency, achieve real-time tracking and management of goods, and optimize cargo handling, warehousing management and other processes. This can not only improve the transparency of goods transportation and help customers to understand the status of goods in a timely manner, but also help enterprises to optimize decisions about the supply chain.

With its unique air rights and free port advantages, Macau International Airport (MIA) is actively diversifying its route network and developing its logistics infrastructure. It is assured that MIA could continue to provide the industry with good services, so as to help promote the diversified development of Macau’s economy, and further support the Greater Bay Area in occupying a more important position in the global air cargo market.

Representatives from CAM included Mr. Frank Wu, Director of Logistic and General Aviation Development Department (LGD), Mr. Jim Leung, Deputy Director of LGD and Mr. Corey Chan, Administrative Assistant of LGD.
