China Eastern Airlines Launches its Shanghai – Yangon Direct Flights

  • 19 Jun 2019

China Eastern Airlines launches its Shanghai – Yangon direct flights at Yangon International Airport (“YIA”), Terminal 1 this morning.

Utilizing an Airbus 320 aircraft for the new service, China Eastern Airlines will operate its thrice-weekly flights starting from 18 June. The new direct service will take only 4 hours and 50 minutes connecting the largest city in China and Myanmar’s commercial capital, Yangon.

The opening of the Yangon – Shanghai route will also provide more options for international passengers departing from Myanmar to transit to a third country.  It is estimated that China Eastern Airlines will transport around 360,000 passengers between China and Myanmar in 2019, according to the airline.
