E-gates Installed at International Departures in KIX

Kansai Airports announced that it has opened e-gates at international departures in Terminal 1 of Kansai International Airport (KIX) with an aim to further promote its Fast Travel* initiative.

The electronic gates, installed before security, automate the verification of boarding passes and expedite processing of departing passengers. With the new e-gates, travelers can self-scan their boarding pass to enter the security screening area, bypassing manual scanning by airport staff. This ensures a seamless process at the departure gate and reduces the burden on screening staff.

The automated gates also enable a touchless travel experience, helping to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Kansai Airports will continue to proactively introduce cutting-edge technologies to provide convenient and comfortable journeys for its passengers.
