First Airport Youth Career Day Attracts Young Talent

Airport Youth Career Day 2023 was held today at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). More than 1,400 people participated. Some 40 recruitment booths set up by airport companies offered over 3,000 job vacancies in ground services, customer services, cargo handling, engineering, and more. Over 800 students and teachers from 25 secondary schools around Hong Kong joined the event.

The first such event at the airport, Airport Youth Career Day 2023 featured activities tailor-made for young job-seekers, including career talks and consultations, portrait photo-taking, coaching on resume preparation, make-up and hair styling for job interviews.
Fred Lam, Chief Executive Officer of AAHK, said in his welcoming remarks, “HKIA is a community that not only provides a wide variety of jobs, but also various leisure facilities for staff. I hope today’s event serves as a great window for students to learn more about different careers in the aviation industry, as well as the operation and future development of the airport. We are confident that HKIA is an ideal platform for the young generations to kick-start their careers.”

The students also visited the HKIA Innovation Lab, where they experienced new technologies applied in airport operations. Visits to the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy were also arranged to learn about courses that target young people interested in the aviation industry.
