Hactl Welcomes the Government’s Announcement of the Approval of the First Round of Applications Under the Labour Importation Scheme for the Aviation Industry

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) welcomes the Government’s announcement of the approval of the first round of applications under the Labour Importation Scheme for the aviation industry. Upon consultation with stakeholders in the industry, the relevant government authorities and Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) have promptly assessed the applications and completed the quota allocation process. The quota as decided has taken fully into consideration the needs of the aviation industry and also balanced the interests of local labour. We believe it will help the industry address the manpower pressure, support the continuous development of Hong Kong’s “Airport City” vision and enable Hong Kong to capture future growth opportunities. In the long run, it will be conducive to helping Hong Kong strengthen its position as an international aviation hub.
