Inaugural Flight to Whitsundays Coast Takes Off Today From Newcastle Airport

Flight AB919 is schedule to depart Newcastle Airport at 11:20am this morning and will land at Whitsunday Coast Airport at 12:55PM (QLD time).

Following the successful launch of the first Bonza flight from the Sunshine Coast on Tuesday, this second route marks a significant milestone in the airline’s commitment to providing affordable, convenient and exceptional air travel experience for Australians.

Peter Cock, CEO of Newcastle Airport, expressed his excitement about the partnership with Bonza: "We are delighted to have Bonza as a partner in expanding our flight network and supporting the growth of our regional tourism industry.

“Our region now has access to a whole new era in low cost air travel, this is something not available in Sydney. Bonza's innovative low-cost model means people can now travel to the Whitsundays for a little as $79 one way. This coupled with the convenience of flying from Newcastle Airport and low-cost parking means an affordable journey for all travellers, whether they are families, couples, or solo adventurers”.

The new route from Newcastle to Whitsundays Coast will operate two times a week, with flights departing Newcastle Airport on Tuesdays and Saturdays and a flight time of 2 hours and 35 minutes. Flights are available for booking through the FlyBonza app or with your local travel agent.
