International Flight Passengers Forecast For Golden Week 2023

Kansai Airports today announced a forecast of international passenger traffic, Japanese and nonJapanese combined, at Kansai International Airport (KIX) during the coming Golden Week (forecast for 10 days from April 28, 2023, to May 7, 2023).

• International flight passengers are forecast to be 377,300 (daily average: 37,700).
  Note: Actual figures in Golden Week 2019 for 11 days was 842,180 with a daily average of 76,560.
• The busiest departure day is expected to be May 3, 2023, with 21,500 departing passengers, while the busiest arrival day is forecast to be May 6, 2023, with 21,900 arriving passengers.
  Note: Actual figures in Golden Week 2019 April 27, 2019, was the busiest for departures with 46,500 departing passengers, while May 6, 2019, was for arrivals with 45,070 arriving passengers.
• The daily average number of passengers is likely to be 49% compared to 2019, and the top three destinations are expected to be South Korea, Southeast Asia and Taiwan
