KIX to Carry Out Comprehensive Aircraft Rescue And Firefighting Drill

Kansai Airports will conduct a comprehensive aircraft rescue and firefighting drill at Izumisano Port near Kansai International Airport (KIX) on Thursday, October 13, 2022.

 

This drill aims to prepare for an aircraft accident in the waters near KIX, and to conduct prompt and appropriate firefighting, rescue, and disaster medical activities in close coordination and cooperation with all relevant organizations, in accordance with the Maritime Aviation Accident Response Guidelines stipulated in the Kansai International Airport Emergency Plan. The drill will be conducted with thorough measures against COVID-19.

 

Kansai Airports Group will continue to strive to maintain the safety of travel and create a safe traveling environment for airport users through various drills.

 

Date & Time: Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 14:00 to 16:00
Location: (1) Seaside: Inside and outside of Izumisano Port (2) On land: Izumisano First Aid Station (3) KIX Joint Crisis Communication Center, KAP Building 5F
Organizer: Kansai International Airport Emergency Plan Liaison Council ○Participants: 64 organizations
(Kansai Airports, New Kansai International Airport Company, Kansai Airport Office West Japan Civil Aviation Bureau, Kansai Airport Coast Guard Air Station, police, fire department, medical institutions, and others)

*A total of 64 organizations, including those participating in the KIX JCMG Steering Committee (in no particular order)
Scale: 300 people
Scenario: (1) A maritime aviation accident in the waters north of KIX. (2) Domestic flight involved in the accident.
Program: (1) Accident reporting and information sharing (2) Rescue of the injured (3) Water discharge (4) Establishment of triage and relief districts (5) Transport using stretcher (6) Triage activity (7) Disaster medical activity (8) Emergency transportation (9) Identification of corpse (10) On-site coordination office activity (11) KIX JCMG (Joint Crisis Management Group) installation and operation
