Macau International Airport Business Recover Ideally During the Labour Day Holiday

2023 Labour Day holiday is over. The traffic volume of Macau International Airport (MIA) is about 65,888 passengers and 572 aircraft movements from 29th April to 3rd May 2023. MIA handled about 114 flights and 13,178 passengers per day on average. Compared with the traffic statistic during the Labour Day holiday in 2019, aircraft movements has recovered by 53%, and passenger volume recovered about 50%.
According to the statistics on the passenger traffic during the 5-days holiday, passengers on the Mainland of China routes and China Taiwan accounted for 66% and 10% of the total of passenger volume respectively, and passengers on Southeast Asia routes accounted for rest of 24%.

With summer season is approaching, Macau International Airport is actively expanding new routes, such as starting from April, Jin Air from South Korea resumed routes to Seoul, Cebu Pacific resumed routes to Philippines, and Tigerair from China Taiwan, which will resume routes in China Taiwan in July 2023.
Meanwhile, it is also actively coordinating for the resumption of flight services to the destinations in the Mainland of China and the expansion of the Southeast Asian aviation market, aiming at providing passengers with more travel options and attract more international tourists to travel in Macau, in line with the tourism development direction of the Macau SAR Government.
