Macau International Airport Ensures Operational Safety As Rain Continues During May Day Holiday

As the May 1 Labour Day holiday is approaching, the Central Meteorological Observatory forecasts on 29th April 2024 that the weather in some regions will be unstable in the later holiday period, with widespread heavy rainfall and severe weather in the central and eastern regions, and occurrences of heavy rain in Jiangnan and South China regions.

 

In addition, the latest weather forecast from the Aviation Meteorological Center of Macao indicates that there will be a pressure trough affecting the Pearl River Delta area during the middle of this week, with frequent heavy showers and thunderstorms. To ensure smooth and safe travel, passengers at Macau International Airport (MIA) are advised to stay vigilant about weather changes and check flight status in advance during the holiday.

Due to the complex weather conditions, flights may be adjusted due to various uncertain factors and passengers can check with the airlines, or through the official website and mobile application of MIA for real-time flight information, in order to stay informed of the latest flight status and make timely arrangements. Macau International Airport will closely communicate with the airlines and relevant departments to assist passengers for ensure safe and efficient flight operations.

 

Meanwhile, the North Car Park at the Macau International Airport is temporarily closed until the end of June due to retrofitting work the Hotel Shuttle Bus Pick-up Area while the South Car Park is currently undergoing reinforcement work, resulting in a reduction in the number of available parking spaces. Considering the increased volume of passengers during the Labour Day holiday, passengers are encouraged to use of public transport to the airport to avoid delays. Also, passengers can check real-time parking availability via the official website of MIA before the journey starts. Macau International Airport advises passengers to arrive in advance and allow sufficient time for a smoother and more relaxed journey.
