MJets Air Launches Seafood and Fruit Cargo Charter Flights Service between Kuala Lumpur and Macau

  • 2025-04-30

On 28th April 2025, Mr. Lei Si Tai, Executive Director of Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) attended the inauguration ceremony of the round-trip Kuala Lumpur-Macau seafood and fruit cargo charter flight services held by MJets Air. The flights are operated using Boeing 737 series freighters, with 12 to 14 round trip flights per week between Kuala Lumpur, Macau, and Philippines. The outbound flights from Macau to Malaysia primarily carry cross-border e-commerce goods, while return flights transport fresh products such as seafood and fruits.

Leveraging the policy advantages of a free port, flexible international air rights, streamlined flight scheduling, and the geographical hub function the air cargo transit services of MIA serve as an aerial economic link between China and ASEAN countries under the Belt and Road Initiative. As ASEAN remains a key strategic partner for both China and the Macau SAR Government, the demand for imported fresh food in the Mainland market continues to grow alongside rising living standards. With the support of the Government of Malaysia, the Macau SAR Government, and various departments of the Zhuhai Municipal Government, this route has enhanced connectivity between Macau International Airport and Zhuhai and other node cities in Guangdong Province.

It establishes a seamless air-land logistics network, not only shortening customs clearance and transportation times for ASEAN fresh and fruit products, but also providing a pioneering platform for deepening supply chain collaboration between western Guangdong and ASEAN. In the future, as the route expands in scale and cargo volume increases, Macau will further attract high-quality resources from ASEAN, enhancing its role as a “transit + distribution + hub”capabilities. This will further promote the Belt and Road Initiative from “trade exchanges” to “industrial integration”, injecting new momentum into regional economic integration through air transport. It is hoped that more high-quality ASEAN fresh goods using Macau as a transit hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area to access the Mainland market, highlighting the strategic value of Macau in the country’s dual-circulation development, expanding international outreach, and the steady advancement of the“One Country, Two Systems” principle.
