  • 2023-10-12

The seven-day holiday of the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day has come to the end. During this period, the air traffic volume of Macau International Airport (MIA) for seven consecutive days from 30th September to 6th October 2023 has been recorded a total of 116,343 passengers and 975 aircraft movements.

The airport handled about 16,620 passengers and 139 flights on average per day. Compared with the Golden Week holiday to the same period in 2019, the overall number of passengers and aircraft movements have recovered by approximately 66% and 63% respectively.

According to the data on the number of passengers during the 7-days Golden Week holidays in 2023, passengers of Mainland China routes accounted for 51% of the total, 13% on China Taiwan routes and 36% on Southeast Asia routes.

As the fourth quarter, Christmas holiday is approaching, MIA will actively expand more routes. For example, Air Macau will launch regular flights between Macau and Indonesia at the end of October. Meanwhile, the airport is also actively assisting the resumption of flights to various destinations to Mainland China and expanding to the Southeast Asian and other international markets.

It is aiming to provide local residents and tourists with more diversified and convenient travel options. MIA will work in line with the tourism development direction of the Macau SAR Government to promote more international tourists to come to Macau.
