Spring Airlines to Launch Routes from KIX to Hefei and Zhengzhou

  • 10 Apr 2019

Kansai Airports is delighted to announce that Spring Airlines (9C) will introduce two new routes from Kansai International Airport (KIX) to Hefei Xinqiao International Airport and Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport – both starting on April 17, 2019.

These new routes will add up to a total of 11 routes operated by the Shanghai-based low-cost carrier from China to KIX. With the launch, the airport will be connected with 36 cities in China (including Hong Kong and Macau).

Hefei, the city to be connected to KIX with four-weekly flights, has a long history of more than 2,200 years dating back to the Qin Dynasty and has seen remarkable economic growth in recent years.

On the other hand, Zhengzhou, the destination that will be served with three-weekly flights, is a major transportation hub in China and has a number of tourist attractions such as remains of the Shang Dynasty and tombs of the late Eastern Han Dynasty.

The upcoming launch of these two routes is expected to capitalize on strong demand for air travel to the Kansai region and further boost the growth.
Kansai Airports will continue to expand its network, including low-cost carrier services, to provide a more convenient, comfortable and pleasant travel experience for all airport guests.
