Qatar Airways to Relaunch KIX-Doha Route Next Year
- 30 Sep 2019
Kansai Airports is delighted to announce that Qatar Airways will relaunch its flight services between Kansai International Airport (KIX) and Hamad International Airport (HIA) next year. Osaka and Doha will once again be connected for the first time in 4 years since March 2016 by the winner of the World Best Airline named at the 2019 Skytrax World Airline Awards. The airline will begin with five weekly flights starting April 6, 2020 and increase the frequency to a daily service from June 23, 2020.
Based at HIA as its hub airport, Qatar’s flag carrier boasts a widespread network covering over 160 cities worldwide. KIX will be their third gateway to Japan. Doha is one of the most dynamic and fast-growing cities in the Middle East, as represented by the development of The Pearl-Qatar, a spectacular resort island filled with luxurious residential villas, shopping malls and hotels. With Qatar slated to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the air traffic demand in and out of the country is expected to grow even more. Kansai Airports will continue to explore opportunities to expand its global network and provide passengers with a more convenient and comfortable travel experience.
