Runway Night Walk at Kobe Airport

Kansai Airports Kobe is excited to announce the “Runway Night Walk” at Kobe Airport on the night of August 23, 2024, to provide an extraordinary experience at the airport.

The last year’s runway night walk was in December, but this year we are having the walk in summer. In this event, participants can walk on the runway and taxiways in the enchanting glow of airfield lights after the airport is closed, guided by experts who share fascinating insights about aviation. We hope you enjoy a marvelous summer night in the areas of the airport that is usually off-limits.

Kansai Airports Group will continue to deliver attractiveness of the airport and travel through various fun events and other initiatives.

Date: From 10:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2024, to around 0:30 a.m. Saturday, August 24 (Reception opens at 9:45 p.m.)
Location: Kobe Airport terminal building and its restricted areas
Event content: 1) Tour around the observation deck of the terminal building (including the miniature museum)
2) Guided night walk on the runway and taxiways (all on foot), and more
Eligibility: Elementary school children or older
Enrollment limit: 45 participants (up to 5 people per group)
Fee: 5,000 yen per person (tax included) (to be paid on the day of the event)

Application deadline: Monday, August 5, 2024 (If the number of applications exceeds the enrollment limit, participants will be selected by a draw.)
*The results will be notified on Friday, August 9, 2024.
Notes: 1) Participants need to be able to come to the airport by car or other means because the public transportation is not available after the tour.
2) Separate fees will be charged for car parking (150 yen/hour)
3) Minors alone cannot apply for or participate in this event. Minors have to be accompanied by adults.
Participants are asked to show identification (driver’s license, student ID, etc.) on the day of the event.
4) This event is subject to change or cancellation due to bad weather or any other reasons related to the management of the facilities. (Light rain or shine)
