Sydney Airport Traffic Performance February 2022

  • 2022-03-21

Total passenger traffic in February 2022 was 1,231,000 passengers, down 63.8% on the corresponding period in 2019.

Domestic passenger traffic totalled 1,002,000 in February 2022, down 51.9% on the corresponding period in 2019. 230,000 international passengers passed through Sydney Airport in February 2022, down 82.6% on the corresponding period in 2019.

Sydney Airport CEO Geoff Culbert said: “We are seeing a two-speed recovery emerging between domestic and international passengers, with domestic passengers nearly back to 50% of pre-COVID levels and growing strongly, but international passengers still below 20%.

“Internationally, airlines are putting on more capacity and by the end of this March we will have 12 of the 21 international airlines who stopped flying to Sydney during the pandemic back flying regular services. The airlines who aren’t yet back are still maintaining staff and offices here which gives us confidence they intend to return.”
