Expansion of Terminal 3

Terminal 3 is an exclusive terminal for LCC, opened on April 8, 2015, as a functional and comfortable facility with an annual handling capacity of 7.5 million passengers. However, with the greater than expected growth of LCC, such as the usage by 7.64 million passengers in 2017, expansion was announced in April 2018, and the Airport has been working on preparations therefor.

The Airport has also been working to improve the convenience of users, for instance by separating routes for arriving and departing passengers to alleviate congestion in September 2019. After this expansion, the Airport will push forward measures towards realizing a demand recovery as soon as possible, by working on the development of commercial facilities in areas after departure formalities and the improvement of Terminal Curbside 3, and fully utilizing the LCC network that is also a strong point of Narita Airport, while also viewing the trend of travel restrictions in Japan.
