Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), an association representing 624 airports, delivered two important presentations at the ICAO Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for Middle East region in Riyadh, highlighting the critical need for enhancing air connectivity and seamlessly integrating Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) into the current air transportation framework.
Dubai International Airport (DXB) has registered a year of strong recovery and consistently robust growth in its customer base that propelled the annual passenger numbers to 66 million in 2022. The airport’s growth outpaced the annual forecast yet again in the final months of the year following an exceptionally strong fourth quarter.

In another industry first Australia’s newest low cost carrier is today leaving its home base on the Sunshine Coast and is heading for Townsville marking the start of regular flights between two of Queensland's favourite holiday destinations.

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) today announced the air traffic figures of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) for January 2023. During the month, passenger throughput at HKIA registered around 2.1 million, marking a year-on-year surge of around 28 times. HKIA handled over 80,000 passengers daily at peak, representing around 40% of pre-pandemic levels. Flight movements saw a year-on-year increase of 34.9% to 16,215, while cargo throughput dropped 26.4% to 288,000 tonnes compared to the same month last year.
