Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), an association representing 624 airports, delivered two important presentations at the ICAO Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for Middle East region in Riyadh, highlighting the critical need for enhancing air connectivity and seamlessly integrating Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) into the current air transportation framework.

Passenger traffic across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East recorded growth in November at +3.8% and +2.7% respectively. Despite a slowdown in the overall pace of growth in Asia-Pacific, India continued to lead with approximately +8.0% growth in total passenger traffic compared with last year
Sharjah Airport records a new number of passengers handled in 2018. With over 12.04 million passengers in 2018 and 11.36 million in 2017, the year-on-year growth was 6%. The number of scheduled and unscheduled flights also increased by 4.68% in 2018, with 77.62 thousand flights in 2017 and more than 81.26 thousand flights last year.
