AOT reports a Navitaire check-in system failure and advises passengers to allow an extra 4 hours for travel

  • 2024-07-22

Dr. Kerati Kijmanawat, President of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT), announced that a service outage at the Navitaire Host Data Center is affecting all airlines worldwide that use the Navitaire system, preventing them from checking in passengers and making reservations at all airports. The main airlines affected are Thai Air Asia (FD) and Scoot Tiger (TR).

Additionally, the following airlines may also be affected: Air Asia Berhad (AK), Philippines AirAsia (Z2), Indonesia AirAsia (QZ), Firefly Airlines (FY), Indigo Airlines (6E), Jetstar Asia (3K), Cebu Pacific Air (5J), Go Airlines (India) Private Ltd. (G8), Hong Kong Express Airways (UO), Jetstar Airways Pty Limited (JQ), SpiceJet Ltd. (SG), Thai AirAsia X (XJ), and Norse Atlantic Airways (NO).

Dr. Kerati added that the incident has resulted in longer than usual passenger check-in times. AOT requests passengers to arrive at the airport 4 hours in advance to prevent missing flights.

Additionally, the incident has affected the automatic passport screening system, which is currently non-operational. AOT has coordinated with the Immigration Bureau to ensure full staffing at all checkpoints during this time, at both Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) and Suvarnabhumi Airport. AOT has also dispatched airport staff to assist with manual check-in.

Passengers who have checked in online and do not have checked baggage can use the biometric system to pass through the security checkpoint. AirAsia at DMK has announced that no flights will be canceled today, but some flights may experience delays. Passengers can reschedule their flights within 7 days. AOT will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as they become available.
