  • 2024-02-02

Perth Airport’s Chief Commercial & Aviation Officer Kate Holsgrove said that the airline has been building its capacity since the pandemic and its return to a daily service between Perth and Hong Kong is another significant step forward in WA’s international aviation recovery.

“Business travellers, students, tourists and those visiting family and friends are key focus sectors between Perth and Hong Kong.

“Cathay Pacific now provides more than 214,000 seats to the Perth market and also provides local exporters with crucial cargo capacity between Perth and Hong Kong and North Asia.

“Cathay Pacific has been an important airline partner for more than 50 years and we are delighted that the airline remains committed to connecting Perth and Western Australia to Hong Kong and beyond.

“Cathay Pacific has excellent connections to 200 destinations worldwide including Asia, Europe and North America offering Western Australians access to a range of travel destinations.

“Cathay Pacific also provides excellent connections to mainland China and fantastic ferry, train or flight travel options to the Greater Bay Area including Guangzhou and Macau,” said Ms Holsgrove.

The daily service is operated by the airline’s B777-300ER aircraft with CX171 arriving into Perth at 2250 and CX140 departing Perth at 0010.

The B777-300ER has a total of 294 seats including 59 Business Class, 34 Premium Economy and 201 Economy Class seats, offering passengers the latest in in-flight entertainment and a superior cabin experience.
