Dr. Son and Dr. Shivagami to speak on Metaverse at Airports Innovate

Dr Shivagami, an accomplished technologist and aviation expert with extensive experience in transforming mission-critical systems into modern architectures. Having built organisational strategies and led the Software Engineering and Infrastructure functions at the Emirates Group for more than two decades through modernisations, she derives inspiration when technology advancements are applied rightly to deliver business value. At Amazon Web Services, she is the Chief Technologist for the Middle East and Africa and a Digital Identity Evangelist for Public Sector. Shivagami was awarded the "Woman of Excellence" by the Government of India for her outstanding contribution towards Technology Innovation and AI towards building the nation.

Dr Son, a PhD holder in Computer Science, is a Senior researcher, Big data engineer, metaverse and digital transformation strategist at Incheon Airport. Dr. Son worked for Hana Financial Group in South Korea, as a Deputy General Manager, Credit Scoring System Engineer. He has also worked at the Korea Electronic Technology Institute in Korea, as a Researcher, IoT Platform engineers.

Airports across the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East have begun to explore the possibilities offered by the metaverse.  This technology has the potential to make travel more delightful by allowing passengers to familiarise themselves with airport infrastructure, operations, and procedures prior to their actual trip, creating a realistic atmosphere in which users may practice and become acquainted with the airport procedure.
