Flypelican to Launch Direct Morning Flights Between Newcastle and the Gold Coast

Today FlyPelican announced a new service to Gold Coast Airport with prime time early morning departures from its home base of Newcastle, commencing Monday 24th March 2025. Operating four days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Each flight departs Newcastle at 7am and arrives at the Gold Coast within 1.5 hours, with a 30 minute turnaround before the return flight.
Flying a Jetstream 32 aircraft seating 19 and offering a complimentary checked baggage allowance, the Newcastle-Gold Coast service is ideal for the business traveller.

Newcastle Airport Interim CEO Andrew Warrender said this new service by FlyPelican is a fantastic addition to the airport’s growing network, offering passengers more choice and flexibility for travel to the Gold Coast.

Queensland Airports Limited CEO Amelia Evans said Gold Coast Airport was looking forward to increasing capacity on the Newcastle route.
“We welcome around 110,000 passengers through our terminal each year on flights to and from Newcastle, so these new services will provide them with more choice,” she said.
The convenience these new flights offer will help drive business opportunities, enhancing economic growth across the Gold Coast and northern New South Wales.”
The launch fares will start from $245 one way inclusive of taxes.
