GMR Hyderabad Airport City Key to Driving Growth and Economy in Telangana

Hyderabad (India), 21st Feb, 2019: GMR led Hyderabad Airport City is on its journey of strengthening its position as an ideal ultramodern landscape making its presence felt in the state of Telangana. GMR has been developing India’s newest business & leisure destination - Hyderabad Airport City in the precincts of the Hyderabad International Airport. Hyderabad Airport City offers an integrated ecosystem covering theme based, anchor-led development zones which include key ports and establishments, viz. Business Port, Health Port, Education Port, Fun Port, Retail Park, Logistics Park and Aerospace Park (multi-product SEZ). The objective is to create a state–of-the–art Aerotropolis that is fully integrated and strategically placed linking the airport contributing to its revenue while being a catalyst and driver of the economy for the state of Telangana.

 

GMR Hyderabad Aviation SEZ Limited (GHASL), a part of Hyderabad Airport City and a 100% subsidiary of GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) has been chosen by Safran to base its 13,000 sqm plant to manufacture aircraft engines parts, for LEAP turbofan engine from CFM International*. Safran had also signed an Agreement in 2018 to produce LEAP engine harnesses in a 4,000 sqm facility to be delivered by GHASL.

This agreement not only gives us an opportunity to develop the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for the company, but also a prospect to contribute to the Telangana State Govt’s aggressive efforts towards turning Hyderabad into India's new aerospace and defence manufacturing destination.”
