- 2025-01-27
Hainan Airlines (IATA Code: HU) will launch one weekly direct passenger flight service between Narita and Haikou starting Monday, February 3, 2025. Following its Beijing and Xi'an routes, this will be Hainan Airlines’ third route departing from Narita.
Hainan Airlines, a full-service carrier established in Hainan Province, China’s largest special economic zone, has been recognized as a 5-Star Airline by SKYTRAX for 13 consecutive years since 2011.
Hainan Island, where Haikou is located, lies at nearly the same latitude as Hawaii. Known as the "Hawaii of the East“, it is a tropical paradise featuring crystal-clear waters, stunning beaches, duty-free shopping, golf courses, hot springs, and numerous other attractions, making it a premier tourist destination.
Currently, there are no direct flights connecting Tokyo and Haikou. This route will be the first direct flight to Hainan Island from Narita Airport and is hoped to attract new travel demand for both inbound and outbound passengers.
