Kansai International Airport's 30th-anniversary website goes live - Nostalgic photos, event information, and more

  • 2024-07-11

Kansai Airports is pleased to announce the launch of a website to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Kansai International Airport, KIX.

Kansai International Airport opened on September 4, 1994, as the world's first off-shore airport built on a completely man-made island, after about eight years of major construction work that began in 1987.

There have been many events and changes in the environment surrounding the airport over the past 30 years since its opening. With the anniversary website, we would like to express our gratitude to the many customers who have used the airport and to all those who have supported us, as well as our wish that "we will be with you on your next journey!”

We are also planning various events and collaborations with others to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We will post the latest information and new content related to the 30th anniversary on this website.

Kansai Airports Group will continue to hold various events and disseminate information to encourage you to become more familiar with and interested in airports and travel.
