MIA Increases Flights Frequency to Meet the Rising Passenger Traffic during Chinese New Year

As the year of the Snake is approaching, the reservation rate of passenger tickets exceeds 90% during the Chinese New Year (CNY). To meet the increasing travel demand during the period, Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) has collaborated with airlines to optimize the flight schedules. A total of 58 additional regular flights and charter flights have been arranged to Mainland China, China Taiwan, Vietnam, Japan, Korea and Malaysia, aiming to provide travellers with a diverse range of travel options. Additionally, in response to recent situation in the Southeast Asian tourism market, the airport will coordinate with airlines on the relevant flight arrangements.
In addition, Macau International Airport is pleased to offer special parking discounts for travellers having New Year trips at MIA to celebrate the Lunar New Year. From 25th January to 7th February 2025, passengers departing from MIA can enjoy a 50% discount on parking for up to five consecutive days. This offer is applicable to both South and North Parking Lots of MIA. To redeem the offer, no advance booking is necessary, passengers require to embark and disembark in/to MIA. Passengers returning to MIA are required to present valid travel identification documents with original copies of both departure and returning boarding passes to the Shroff Office upon redeeming the special discount offer, otherwise the discount will be invalid. Parking spaces are subject to availability and will be processed on first-come first-served basis. During the Chinese New Year, MIA has transformed its passenger terminal with vibrant and festive decorations. This year, the Airport has incorporated the creative and skillful balloon art to enhance the festive atmosphere, offering passengers a unique and enjoyable experience. Travellers may take snapshots with the intricate balloon sculptures and decorations, capturing the joyous spirit of their holiday journeys. To celebrate the festive season with passengers, Macau International Airport has also prepared a series of special programs for passengers traveling during this season. From 25th to 28th January 2025, passengers will have the opportunity to receive traditional Spring Festival couplets at the departure restricted zone. Renowned local calligraphers will be at the passengers’ disposal from 10:00 to 12:00 and 15:00 to 17:00, offering personalized couplets and extending their best wishes for the New Year. Moreover, the God of Wealth will make a special appearance at MIA from 29th to 31st January 2025, greeting passengers and adding to the festive cheer of the Chinese New Year holiday period.
