Sime Darby Motors drives into new Brisbane Airport development

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has continued to accelerate its industrial developments, welcoming a member of Sime Darby Motors, one of the leading automotive groups in the Asia Pacific.
Sime Darby Motors Australia, which partners with some of the world’s most admired retail and commercial transport brands in Australia, is moving into BAC’s newest 9,450 sqm warehouse and distribution facility at its thriving Export Park.
Martin Ryan, BAC’s Executive General Manager Commercial, said Sime Darby Motors Australia was quick to secure a lease in the facility shortly after it was launched, highlighting the strong demand for industrial land at Brisbane Airport.

The new Export Park facility includes a 9,450 sqm warehouse facility, 550 sqm of offices, 104 on-site car parks as well as eight on-grade roller shutters on a dual street frontage.
It includes provision for solar energy and electric vehicle charging, and was constructed using energy and heat-efficient materials, in line with BAC’s commitment to sustainability.
Sime Darby Motors Group Retail Australia Managing Director, Matthew Wiesner, said the company, which is one of Australia’s leading automotive groups, was pleased to secure the sizable new facility at a time of high demand.

Sime Darby Motors Australia new Export Park facility joins warehousing and office facilities from RSEA Safety, GEODIS, DHL, Bonds Transport and Direct Couriers. Almost 150 jobs were created in the construction phase of this development.
