Singapore Airlines Boost for WA Travellers
- 2023-05-29
Perth Airport says the decision by Singapore Airlines to increase its flights to Singapore will open up more travel opportunities for Western Australians.
Singapore Airlines is currently running three flights a day on the Perth-Singapore route.
The airline will now add a fourth flight using an Airbus A350-900 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Friday’s and Sundays.
The move will bring an additional 17,000 seats into the Perth market.
Perth Airport Acting CEO Kate Holsgrove said the move was another significant step forward in WA’s international aviation recovery.
“Singapore has always been a popular destination for Western Australian travellers,” Ms Holsgrove said.
“We’ve got strong business, education, trade and tourism links with Singapore and Singapore Airlines has been a great friend to the Western Australian aviation market for many decades.
“We have traditionally enjoyed very strong two-way travel between Perth and Singapore and this has been rebuilding at a good pace since the lifting of Covid border controls.
“Singapore is also an important hub for Australian travellers looking to head on to other international destinations.
“We see this as another vote of confidence in our aviation recovery and we look forward to welcoming these additional Singapore Airlines flights in November this year.”
