Stargazing at Osaka International Airport- Enjoy the constellations in the autumn night sky

Kansai Airports is excited to announce a special stargazing night at Osaka International (Itami)  Airport on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

 

 

This event will be held together with the Nishi-Harima Astronomical Observatory of the University of Hyogo, which has the world's largest public telescope “Nayuta Telescope.” This is the first time for the Observatory to hold the event at Itami Airport. After a classroom session with a former airline captain on his experience with the skies during the flights, visitors can marvel at the constellations through the telescope on the observation deck.

 

Kansai Airports Group is committed to offering new and exciting travel experiences through a variety of engaging events.

 

Date & time: Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Details: 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Aviation astronomy class at “Hoshi-no-ma (meeting room)”, 4F, north terminal building 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Stargazing on the south observation deck
*In case of severe weather, the event will be cancelled, and a notice will be posted in the 
URL below.

*If cloud cover prevents star observation, a workshop “Let's learn about constellations and the universe” will be held in the Hoshi-no-ma (meeting room) instead of the stargazing session.
Admission: Free
*Everyone is welcome to attend without prior application. However, please be aware that  attendance may be restricted depending on the turnout.
