  • 19 Feb 2021

Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang International Airport, under supervision of  Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT), are accredited for their safe hygienic measures under the Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) Programme from Airport Council International (ACI). This proves that AOT has attached importance to hygienic measures and health safety at their airports in every aspect of their operational processes and practices     such as cleaning and disinfection, physical distancing, physical layout, terminal access, check-in areas, security screening, boarding gates, lounges, retails, food and beverages, boarding bridges, escalators and elevators, baggage claim area, arrival exit, including passenger communication and staff protection.

“The Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) Programme” is designed to provide airports with an assessment of how aligned their health measures are with the ACI Aviation Business restart and Recovery guidelines and ICAO Council Aviation Restart Task Force recommendations along with industry best practices. All airports participating in the programme must provide information about their airports and other relevant information to ACI as well as attending teleconferences for assessment and reporting to ACI on a regular basis.

Joining this programme enables AOT to reassure passengers and airport users using the airports’ facilities, demonstrates that AOT is aware of the importance of medical emergency and safety of airport users, and builds confidence that all measures implemented at the airports under AOT’s supervision are appropriate, effective, adequate and consistent with best practices across the industry.
