Updates to Statutory Airport Area and Restricted Area Maps Taking Effect

The amendments to the existing Maps of Airport Area and Restricted Area Orders under the Airport Authority Ordinance (Cap. 483), made to reflect the changes in the boundaries of the Airport Area and Restricted Area arising from the latest developments in the facilities of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) and the operation of the Three-runway System are effective from today. The relevant legislative amendments were gazetted on 3 May 2024.

Airport Authority Hong Kong has consulted stakeholders about the relevant amendments. Before the amendments came into effect, a thorough security search and checks were carried out on the relevant Restricted Area.
